Thursday

In Class
Today in class we discussed how observing the things around us can help us find our own place in the world. Students did some free writing for about 5 minutes, focusing on one object in the room and describing it with sensory details. Then students worked on a characterization chart with a focus on Holden and different observations surrounding him.

Homework
Personal Observations Reflection- Answer the following questions in Journal entry format.
1. Describe how you perceive yourself as a student. Are you a good student? Do you work hard? Is school relevant to your life?
2. Describe your school. What does it look like, smell like, feel like? What do you hear around you?
3. Where do you “fit in” in your school? What clubs do you belong to? Where do you feel most comfortable at school and why?
(1 page minimum, typed double spaced 12 pt font, 1 inch margins)
