Today's discussion dealt with Holden's observations of others in chapters 9 and 10.

Homework
Read and annotate chapters 11 and 12. Holden is about your age at the time he is describing to us. Put yourself in his shoes: you just got kicked out of a prep school and your parents have no idea that you left and are back in New York City. What are your feelings about being in the big city alone, no one having any idea of where you are? Are you scared or do you have a sense of a newfound freedom? Write 1 page on your feelings and let us know why you feel this way.
