Today we discussed how culture impacts the individual by discussing our own cultures. We also read an excerpt from The Accidental Asian by Eric Liu.

Your group's first assignment is due tomorrow.
Memoir
The topic for the first memoir you are required to write is how your culture has impacted you. You might want to include details like whether you were born in America or not, how the food you eat, the music you listen to and the way you dress all contribute to shaping your identity. (you are not limited to only these examples). You need to utilize the excerpts that were distributed in class and the reading you are doing in groups as models.
